float, eat, laugh, dance, love, and more

Famous,

Floating in a boat, but not in water, in air - how cozy does this look:

I found it on lace and tea. They link it to unstitched, but I couldn’t find the post. However, that is also a new blog I will browse regularly! Unstitched led me to Freya. Aren’t these prints great! This is one of my favorites:

Eat drink dance sing

LOVE ME,

And the fact that I: do eat, heartily; always drink joyfully; absolutely always dance with abandoned; wish I could sing unshamedly; can’t help but laugh freely; believe in loving generously, probably too generously; will always try my best to live with no regrets! (See, isn’t that print fantastic).

Ruby’s ugly thrown

Famous,

You should send some pet pics to Desire to Inspire! They are doing posts of pets on furniture. Ruby on her thrown made it today! Ha ha.

Love me,

and my house full of furniture that humans can’t sit on because it’s hairy and slobbery. Not only from Jayson but the dogs and cat, too!

Leggings are NOT PANTS!!

Spam,

I came across this video on the blog, My Favorite and My Best. I think it is poking fun at the recent re-emergence of leggings.

I hope you are laughing! And don’t you think we see more than our fair share of this atrocity while working on a college campus?! These girls were not around in the eighties when we learned that any type of spandex on our bottom half must be balanced by a top that is 3 sizes too big (which then covers the unsightly shape of one’s booty in said spandex). We should maybe print this and hand it out to the offenders. We are only two people, but we can make a difference.

Cheers to a world without leggings (as pants),
love, famous

PS. Check out My Favorite and My Best. She has a dirty mouth and a weird fetish for bathroom-related activities, but she’s funny!

“I LIKE” Round-up

Hi Famous!

I’m so glad you visited this weekend. Our spin team was awesome! I really really really need to visit The Cities this summer. Maybe Jayson and I can do a weekend trip - baseball, shopping, visiting…

I still really need to get some house pictures up, but at least you got to stop by and see it in person! Since I don’t have house pictures, here are some other things I’d like to share - things I like right now.

See you soon!

LOVE ME,
and the fact that I asked for a new camera for Christmas, got it, and haven’t uploaded any pictures that I’ve taken with it, therefore leading me to randomness on the internet instead of uploading,

Uh oh!

Spam,

During my morning ritual of coffee and blogs, I came across a new online mag. Southern Flourish. It’s pretty great. BUT, check out the site it is housed on. Issuu. This is GREAT.  And dangerous. I don’t know if I’ll have the willpower to navigate away from this site. And that four-letter word…work…I don’t know if that will happen today either.

Cheers to online magazines (even better…FREE online mags!),
love, famous

PS. The blog that provided this introduction to the best website ever (I am sorry, even ours comes in second to this site of all sites): Young House Love. The couple behind this site is adorable and they have a TON of great do-it-yourself tips and ideas. And their house is very cool. It is also a ranch, which we both now happen to own, so you may find some ideas for your place.

PPS. Are you loving Spring? I had the windows open all day yesterday! And all the snow has melted from our yard. AND we found out our driveway is about 4 feet wider than we thought it was!

A Friday History Lesson

Spam,

How did we get here (in America)? This provides the answers (and a little more).

Better than any history class I’ve had!

Side note: I have a purse with one of her sketches printed on the side. It’s one of my favorites!

Remember, the Oscars are this Sunday. I can’t wait for them!

Cheers to the weekend (this has been my worst week at work ever in my life…I am glad that it is over),

I heart moodboards

Famous,
I’ve found something really fabulous to assist in redecorating a home. Not just moodboards, but a place online to create your own moodboard specifically for your home design, and I heart it. Here’s what I’ve completed so far…

Bathroom! Grey walls with white, yellow, black accents

Bathroom - Grey walls with white and silver fixtures, and yellow and black accents

Living room - sage walls, tan and brown furnishings, and warm accent colors

Living room - sage walls, tan and brown furnishings, and warm accent colors

It’s true that you can’t be incredibly picky. The site doesn’t offer exactly the items or colors you may be looking for, but at least you can find inspiration if your starting from scratch.

Note: If you plan to use the mydeco feature, create an account before you begin your mood board, otherwise you won’t be able to save your hard work! There is also a feature for designing a 3D room that I have not attempted - just seems like too much work, and I’m not that motivated.

Tonight I’m tackling wallpaper removal for the first time. I know it’s not difficult, just time consuming. Cross your fingers that there is only one layer! That’s what I’m dreading - to start peeling away the flowers to see… MORE FLOWERS! NOOOOOO!

Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Since I’m on a home design, interior style kind of kick this weekend, I just love The Selby. Some of my personal faves:

LOVE ME,
and my warm water and vinegar spray bottle,

Miss Tavi Gevinson

Famous,
If you do anything today, you need to go to Wikipedia or Google or Yahoo or Bing or some searcher tool of choice, and search for ”Tavi Gevinson,” please. How darling is she? Search images and search for her blog. She’s fantastically entertaining. I think you will get a kick out of her.
LOVE ME,
And her, with her classy gray hair and lovely large hair accessories,

Wedding Blogmit

Famous,

How exhausted are you now if you were exhausted before your big moving weekend!!

Quick blogmit update - Shawna and co. decided to create a website featuring local wedding vendors - Fresh Wed. A new feature is Fresh Fridays… by me!!

Very exciting. Stay tuned for this Friday’s links because I think you will love the shoes my intern desperately wants for her wedding day.  “I will die if I don’t get them!”

I also have some un-wedding related blogmit to post, after I unpack a few more boxes!

LOVE ME,

And my love of blogs, and hatred of unpacking (shhh, don’t tell Jayson, he keeps telling me this is supposed to be fun),

Best of…

Famous!

Did you have a fantastic Holiday? I was in Canada, and although I missed time with my family, I had a wonderful time with my wanna-be-family (no, nothing round and shiny - just fulfilling the request). It was our first full-family vacation - Me, Jayson, Ruby, and Max!

Since 2010 is a few days away, I figured there are all kinds of ‘best of 2009′ lists out there.  So I’ll just share a few (ok, more than a few) here. You’ll need plenty of spare time, because once you start clicking, you’ll click to something else, and then something else. Celeb lists are always my favorite, so you’ll find plenty of those in my round up, along with a few other things I know you and I both enjoy. Can you believe this year took us from Joaquin Phoenix and this ridiculous interview to Tiger a.k.a. Cheetah (with at least 13 spots and counting)!

And I saved the best for last:

Happy 2010!
LOVE ME,
And since everyone is concerned with what to call this upcoming decade (the teens? the tens?), I read the word ‘Tenennium’ somewhere. I don’t know. I keep saying, “0′ ten” even though that’s not correct. I might stick with it. “0′ 11, 0′12, 0′13. It works…
