Some stuff

Famous,

How are you doing? Are you busy working on your house? At first I wanted to do every project and every room immediately. Now… whenever I get to it is just fine. I’ve pretty much finished up the bathroom, and my family brought up furniture for my living room. Hopefully I’ll get those pics to you soon! I’m still trying to do wall decor in the living room, but I’ll get there… whenever : )

I am organizing bookmarks on my computer (Yes. That is what I’m doing on a Friday evening.), and ran in to some stuff I tagged to share with you, and never did!

  • What I like to call “Hell No” yoga poses.
  • Maybe this guy will complete my bathroom.
  • If I used my bike as a main mode of transportation, I would invest in this basket.
  • This blog makes me laugh.

Now, I’m off to see Eat. Pray. Love. I bought the book, never read, and hope that maybe Julia will motivate me to want to read it. It’s getting average reviews so far, so I’m guessing maybe the book is better.

LOVE ME,

And Friday afternoon laptop clean up

Me: Do you know you can get a DUI on a bike?

Co-worker: A BUI? I have two.

Cheers to crazy people on bikes (I don’t count. The bikes I ride don’t move),

“I LIKE” Round-up

Hi Famous!

I’m so glad you visited this weekend. Our spin team was awesome! I really really really need to visit The Cities this summer. Maybe Jayson and I can do a weekend trip - baseball, shopping, visiting…

I still really need to get some house pictures up, but at least you got to stop by and see it in person! Since I don’t have house pictures, here are some other things I’d like to share - things I like right now.

See you soon!

LOVE ME,
and the fact that I asked for a new camera for Christmas, got it, and haven’t uploaded any pictures that I’ve taken with it, therefore leading me to randomness on the internet instead of uploading,

Wedding Blogmit

Famous,

How exhausted are you now if you were exhausted before your big moving weekend!!

Quick blogmit update - Shawna and co. decided to create a website featuring local wedding vendors - Fresh Wed. A new feature is Fresh Fridays… by me!!

Very exciting. Stay tuned for this Friday’s links because I think you will love the shoes my intern desperately wants for her wedding day.  “I will die if I don’t get them!”

I also have some un-wedding related blogmit to post, after I unpack a few more boxes!

LOVE ME,

And my love of blogs, and hatred of unpacking (shhh, don’t tell Jayson, he keeps telling me this is supposed to be fun),

Exhausted

Spam,

I am SO tired! I could fall asleep on my desk right now.

I could use a cat nap.

I could use a cat nap.

We have the UHaul booked for Saturday, so we will be moved in by the end of the weekend! I have been out every night this week either running errands or going to the new house to clean. My 9:30 bedtime has been pushed back and I can definitely feel it. Getting up at 5:00 to teach spin has been hell. I haven’t been pushing my classes as hard, so I apologize to all my spinners out there!

I met someone this morning who definitely needs to read that reference book. I forgot my lunch in my car this morning, so I ran back out to retrieve it. Coming back into the building, a man was standing by this security door we have that requires an ID to pass through. He had a cart full of boxes, etc. so when he swiped his card and opened the door, I went to hold the door open for him. He started yelling at me “I can’t let you in! Didn’t you go to the training? I am not supposed to let you in.” Okay. I get the point. You’re not suppose to let me in. But in my sleepy stupor I couldn’t get any words out for a couple seconds. I think I was stunned he was being so rude. Finally I was able to form the words, “I was just going to hold the door for you.” Jeez (I said that in my head). The front desk receptionist and I exchanged glances that said “Are you kidding me?” Once I got through the security door (by swiping my own ID) I had to ride up the elevator with this guy. He said “Have a nice day” when he exited. Really? I almost started crying when I got to my office (that’s when I figured out how overly tired I really am).

Cheers to all the considerate Canadians out there. We need more of you.

Getting Lippy

Hi Spam,

While getting my brain ready to do some work today, I came across an article about two high schools in Seattle that took their competition to YouTube. The videos they made are called lip-dubs. Check them out…

Shorecrest High School

Shorewood High School

My vote goes to Shorecrest, but I give Shorewood props for reversing the video and editing it that way.

What a great way to bring the student body together on a fun project! That comraderie makes me smile.

Cheers to high school musicals,

BLOGMIT Time!

Famous,
Are you accomplishing everything you need to accomplish for the holidays, or in general? Because I absolutely am not!

And in order to continue to prevent everyone from being productive with me, here is some blogmit!

A.) That Hobby Looks Like a Lot of Work: An interesting article written by Alex Williams, husband of Joanna Goddard, regarding Etsy shop owners who quit their day jobs to just sell their work. It actually touches on the highlights and lowlights of having such a career.

B.) That led me to this graduation card created by Cracked Design: The inside reads, “Happy Graduation!” How humorously fitting!

C.) A beauty product I endorse and LOVE. L’Oreal’s Voluminous Mistake-Proof Marker Eyeliner is perfect for thin or thick liner, and it’s sooo easy. Love it.

D.) Baron Bob, where I found this punny shirt:

slow-poke

E.) Love this song and dance: SYTYCD (Song: Tore My Heart, Oona)

F.) I recently created a wreath, that’s not necessarily a wreath!? It’s a square creation, wrapped in ribbon. Maybe I’ll upload a picture, but until then, this is a simple felt design on Domestifluff (click on the pic for the DIY post!):

Have a wonderful weekend.

LOVE ME,
I hope you put something off in order to read this random, nonsense blogmit. Probably not kind of me to think, but it makes me feel better.

I’m posting to win, but I think I’m ineligible.

Famous,
Shawna and friends have a new blog together - Fresh Wed.

I’m posting here for two reasons. One, because you and I love blogs, weddings, friends, etc. and this one’s trendy and adorable. Two, because I love the Linda & Harriett calender I currently have for 2009, and I want one for 2010!

And my first time going to the gym as a member tonight. I’ll tell you how sore I am tomorrow!

Updates and a buncha blogmit

Spam,

I definitely missed you this past weekend! I didn’t take many pictures that night, but here are a couple…

Tall and Me

Tall and Me

Tall is a friend who shares my name. While in GA for spring break (alluded to in a previous post) we were nicknamed “Tall” and “Short.”

R-dawg and Tall

R-dawg and Tall

R-dawg was the birthday girl and is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. This is supported by the fact she can get 50+ people to ride the lightrail at the beginning of winter to drink and act like we are all still in college.

So, that was just last weekend. What else have I been up to? Spinning is keeping me quite busy! The gym was turned over to new owners in September. They renamed it The Shed. Check it out! I just started teaching three days a week…Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday all at 5:45 AM. That means I am dead tired by 9:00 pm. And that I don’t accomplish very much at night. I try to squeeze in as much as I can before 8:30, when I start nodding off into dreamland.

But on Thursday nights Ben and I take a photography class through community ed. at a nearby high school. I’ve learned a LOT of things about digital SLR cameras and how to take better pictures. The trouble is remembering it all while I’m out shooting! I’ve had some great opportunities to practice my skills…

I’ve traveled a bit for work this past month. Where to? Let’s just say I’m following Fala.

fala2

There was a statue of FDR outside my hotel in Louisville. His Scottish Terrier, Fala, was with him.

fala3

Then, a few weeks later I traveled to Washington DC. I had some time to walk around the National Mall and stopped by the FDR memorial. Of course, Fala was there!

fala4

fala5

Isn’t he cute? Our neighbors have three Scottish terriers: Sparkle, Chance, and Douggy. Sparkle barks at me every morning when I leave for work, Chance is the quiet type and cool older brother to Douggy, who is just a puppy. Douggy and the other new member of the family, Hal (a cat), fight for Chance’s attention. How cute is that?

So, about those artsy pictures…most of the ones I have taken are of statues or buildings. That’s what you get when you travel by yourself! I was tempted a few times to ask people if I could take pictures of their dogs, but then I chickened out. However, after seeing the adorable pictures by Sharon Montrose, I am inspired to just start clicking away. I have absolutely loved her pictures for a really long time. She is already on my list of artists to order prints from when I start decorating a new house!

Are you planning on seeing Twilight New Moon this weekend? I know there are a few Twilight girls up in GF that may talk you into it! I think Tall and JZ (not the rapper, another friend from college…I never realized that most of my friends have nicknames) may brave the herds of screaming tween girls and attend the midnight showing. If I survive, I’ll let you know how it is.

Cheers to really long blog posts,
love, famous

The Most Adorable Blogmit

Famous,

How was your pub hopping? Did you take great pictures? I remember your attempt at taking artistic pictures… are you still trying to do that? I shouldn’t have worded it that way. An attempt and are you still trying makes it sound like you weren’t succeeding. I do believe you took artistic pictures. I found the perfect job for you!

Today on A Cup of Jo, two great blogs are featured. First, the one that is not the job for you, but totally sweet and sometimes hilarious. Second, the most adorable blog you have ever seen (if you love cute little animals and babies and fuzzy puppies and piglets and all the cuteness you can imagine).

Enjoy!
