Spam,
I definitely missed you this past weekend! I didn’t take many pictures that night, but here are a couple…

Tall and Me
Tall is a friend who shares my name. While in GA for spring break (alluded to in a previous post) we were nicknamed “Tall” and “Short.”

R-dawg and Tall
R-dawg was the birthday girl and is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. This is supported by the fact she can get 50+ people to ride the lightrail at the beginning of winter to drink and act like we are all still in college.
So, that was just last weekend. What else have I been up to? Spinning is keeping me quite busy! The gym was turned over to new owners in September. They renamed it The Shed. Check it out! I just started teaching three days a week…Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday all at 5:45 AM. That means I am dead tired by 9:00 pm. And that I don’t accomplish very much at night. I try to squeeze in as much as I can before 8:30, when I start nodding off into dreamland.
But on Thursday nights Ben and I take a photography class through community ed. at a nearby high school. I’ve learned a LOT of things about digital SLR cameras and how to take better pictures. The trouble is remembering it all while I’m out shooting! I’ve had some great opportunities to practice my skills…
I’ve traveled a bit for work this past month. Where to? Let’s just say I’m following Fala.

There was a statue of FDR outside my hotel in Louisville. His Scottish Terrier, Fala, was with him.

Then, a few weeks later I traveled to Washington DC. I had some time to walk around the National Mall and stopped by the FDR memorial. Of course, Fala was there!

Isn’t he cute? Our neighbors have three Scottish terriers: Sparkle, Chance, and Douggy. Sparkle barks at me every morning when I leave for work, Chance is the quiet type and cool older brother to Douggy, who is just a puppy. Douggy and the other new member of the family, Hal (a cat), fight for Chance’s attention. How cute is that?
So, about those artsy pictures…most of the ones I have taken are of statues or buildings. That’s what you get when you travel by yourself! I was tempted a few times to ask people if I could take pictures of their dogs, but then I chickened out. However, after seeing the adorable pictures by Sharon Montrose, I am inspired to just start clicking away. I have absolutely loved her pictures for a really long time. She is already on my list of artists to order prints from when I start decorating a new house!
Are you planning on seeing Twilight New Moon this weekend? I know there are a few Twilight girls up in GF that may talk you into it! I think Tall and JZ (not the rapper, another friend from college…I never realized that most of my friends have nicknames) may brave the herds of screaming tween girls and attend the midnight showing. If I survive, I’ll let you know how it is.
Cheers to really long blog posts,
love, famous
