Lily

Spam,

Meet Lily the bear.

lily1

As of yesterday she is a new mom! The North American Bear Center in Ely, MN put a camera in hibernating Lily’s den and was able the capture this miracle of birth. I guess it is quite rare to capture such a moment, the likely reason being it is hard to get a camera in a hibernating bear’s den.

Anyways, go to the Bear Center’s website and take a look at the new mother and cub. I haven’t caught a glimpse of the little one yet, but you can hear him or her make cute little cub noises!

Awww.

I hope you are staying dry and warm! I just went out with the boys and we came back looking like drowned rats. I’d much rather be dealing with snow.

Cheers to Lily and her new cub!

Girly moment for the week

Famous,
That’s a great video. Can you believe how quickly the years have gone by? And I completely forgot about some of the events in the video - good find!

Here’s my girly moment for the week:

Me: Since I’m awful at present keeping, I have to tell you that I have a wonderful Christmas present for you! I’m excited.
Jayson: Come on. Christmas will be real fun for our kids when they are getting their presents on Halloween.

Awwww, he said ‘our kids.’

LOVE ME,
And my girlyness that probably makes Jayson gag, and hopefully embarrasses him just for fun,

I’m right on top of that, Rose!

Spam,

It is just two days after the wedding and I have uploaded my pictures and edited them. This is definitely a record for me. I am REALLY excited to see Shawna’s pictures, but here are a few of mine to tie us all over for awhile.

For starters, here is the beautiful couple:

The bridesmaids (aren’t the dresses great?!):

And a close-up:

The wedding party:

(Yep, that’s a big black dog in the front. Kuma, the couple’s Newfoundland)

And here is one of my boys on our way home. No, I did not pose them. I turned around and they were sharing this yellow towel for a pillow. All together: Aaaahhh, for cute.

It was so fun to see you on Saturday, even though it wasn’t for very long. I am coming into town at the end of August without any big plans, so maybe we can get together for more than an hour or two.

Cheers to weddings,
Love, famous

PS. I added a new category: WEDDINGS! Just because we may be discussing it more and more in the near future.
PPS. I am really excited to be involved in said discussions and the big event. Thank you for the including me!

My personal TFLN

Famous,
Here is my TFLN: (Scene - Jayson thinking he isn’t going to be out late for a friend’s bday. Me knowing him better than he does, apparently)

J: I lied. I’ll party a little. Curt did compare our time as roommates to a shooting star in the night.
Me: That would never work if i pulled that crappy kind of line on you. Tell him I say happy effing bday!
J: Because you and I have staying power that a shooting star can’t offer.
Me: Mmmm… gag.

LOVE ME

All dogs to go heaven…

Hi Spam,

Yes, I loved that Dooce post. She is funny, but the comments she gets are even funnier.

While putting the last few items into my suitcase this morning, Kilik saw me and was overcome with anxiety. He started making this weird, high-pitched whimpering sound, which got louder when I started towards the door. I am only going to be gone for a few days, but my heart always breaks when I have to leave my little guys behind.

Then, I was reading the New York Times this morning and came across “Life Lessons From the Family Dog.”  This just cements the fact that dogs are the best companions one can ever have. I haven’t even left yet and I am already missing mine!

I’ll post pictures of my trip when I return. Have a great weekend!

Caution: Mushy

Famous,
Ok. I’m going to tell you my girlie stories through type now (I tell Nate at work, and he kindly listens, but he responds in a guy way, not a girl way. No offense Nate). So here’s my “Guess what Jayson did,” story:

It was one of those days of the month when everything is a really big deal, and extra dramatic, and I make things up to think about and worry about. So after one of those nights, the nights when I decide to talk about really important stuff I make up just as he is drifting off to sleep and he would rather me talk about it during the day so we are not up until 1 or 2am, he did something really sweet the next day.

I got home from work just as he was leaving to go to the gym. As he walked out he told me to check my email. So I did. He sent me the lyrics to a song that made him think about us (insert your aww here). And, so I looked it up on YouTube to actually hear it.
Later that night he attended a colleague’s going away gathering. I was in bed when he got home. He downloaded the song, woke me up, and we listened to it (another aww). He explained that it made him think of us because he travels so much and always asks me to leave on the porch light. He also said that it should probably be our song, since we don’t have one.  LOVE IT. It’s Credance Clearwater Revival’s Long As I Can See the Light.

I can’t believe that you had such a crazy weekend. What a mess. Don’t forget - Kath & Kim tomorrow, ha!

P.S. If any of Jayson’s friends are reading this, please do not take away his Man Card… Take Notes.
