A San Francisco Treat for the 4th!

The milk man, the paperboy, the evening TV?

While browsing through my pictures, I can’t get the Full House song out of my head! I won’t bore you with a ton of vacation photos, but maybe some of my favorites. I also tried to be you and get a little artsy sometimes. There is a lot to do in San Francisco, when you have the time - Eight days, and a couple days of wandering on my own! We did everything: Giants baseball game, Alcatraz, WWII Submarines, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Golden Gate, Golden Gate Park, Muir Woods, Chinatown, Haight-Ashbury, Grateful Dead’s House, Union Street shopping, Painted Ladies (Full House houses), Muir Woods, Twin Peaks, Sausalito, and on and on and on! What a fantastic 4th of July.

Birthday month

Fame,
Sorry I’ve been MIA. I’m in Indianapolis this week for work. I love walking around downtown and easily getting to everything you need - food, shops… banks. Yep, that’s it. I have so much to share, but I will have to do it at a later date. It’s my birthday month, and I have had travels, food, animal adoptions, and more. I know, birthday month, but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Everyone is being so supportive of the idea. Thank you, great friends!
Gotta run to a session…
LOVE ME,
And my two and a half weeks left of celebrating,

Best of…

Famous!

Did you have a fantastic Holiday? I was in Canada, and although I missed time with my family, I had a wonderful time with my wanna-be-family (no, nothing round and shiny - just fulfilling the request). It was our first full-family vacation - Me, Jayson, Ruby, and Max!

Since 2010 is a few days away, I figured there are all kinds of ‘best of 2009′ lists out there.  So I’ll just share a few (ok, more than a few) here. You’ll need plenty of spare time, because once you start clicking, you’ll click to something else, and then something else. Celeb lists are always my favorite, so you’ll find plenty of those in my round up, along with a few other things I know you and I both enjoy. Can you believe this year took us from Joaquin Phoenix and this ridiculous interview to Tiger a.k.a. Cheetah (with at least 13 spots and counting)!

And I saved the best for last:

Happy 2010!
LOVE ME,
And since everyone is concerned with what to call this upcoming decade (the teens? the tens?), I read the word ‘Tenennium’ somewhere. I don’t know. I keep saying, “0′ ten” even though that’s not correct. I might stick with it. “0′ 11, 0′12, 0′13. It works…

I’m posting to win, but I think I’m ineligible.

Famous,
Shawna and friends have a new blog together - Fresh Wed.

I’m posting here for two reasons. One, because you and I love blogs, weddings, friends, etc. and this one’s trendy and adorable. Two, because I love the Linda & Harriett calender I currently have for 2009, and I want one for 2010!

So many shows, so little time!

Famous!

I’m taking off tomorrow at 5am for Kansas. I cannot believe that it’s Thanksgiving already. One of my fall resolutions was to watch more television. More specifically, to watch a show regularly.

Dear Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for DVR and the Friday nights that Jayson’s out of town and I decide to be a hermit.

My DVR is set to record all of the shows I chose to watch this fall. They are recorded every week, and after I have about 2 or 3 episodes of about 2 or 3 different shows (sooo, about 3ish hours of TV to catch up on), I choose to stay at home on a Friday when Jayson is traveling, curl up on my couch, and watch, and of course fast forward through commercials (again, tis the season to be thankful).  There are a couple of shows Jayson and I are both trying to keep up on this season also, making for another 2 hours. Poor me.

Here’s my line up, please click on the pictures to see a clip:

Accidentally on Purpose - Mondays on CBS
Celeb I enjoy: Jenna Elfman
There is also eye candy, and a little humor. This show is more adorable than laugh out loud.

accidentallyonpurpose

Modern Family - Wednesdays on ABC
My favorite character - either Phil, the dad who thinks he is cool in the eyes of his children, or Cam, Mitchell’s partner and father of Lily (Family Tree)
This show is probably my favorite of the three I’m mentioning.

modernfamily

Community - Thursdays on NBC
Favorite character - Jeff (they main character), aka Talk Soup’s Joel McHale, who is too cool to be in community college, but is the glue of the eclectic study group.
Pretty funny, but I might be partial because I not only attended one, but TWO community colleges!

Shows that Jayson and I share:

V, Tuesdays on ABC (only 4 episodes this fall concluding tonight and returning in March) - science fiction, based on an 80s TV miniseries, and apparently a significant miniseries in Jayson’s life - I’ve watched the old 80s miniseries. Thank goodness they ran it on television because I was about to watch it on VHS recorded off of TV in the 80s.

The League, Thursdays on FX - basically, comedians getting together and chronicling any loyal fantasy football player’s roller coaster of a life throughout the football season. Or, in other words, I sit and stare at Jayson while he watches because I’m always in awe of how close to home the show is hitting.

That’s it. That’s all. Trying to keep up on these shows weekly is more difficult than I thought. And surprisingly, none of them are reality shows. Which reminds me… American Idol begins January 12th! I can’t wait to see Ellen in action!

LOVE ME,
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, and please use your DVR responsibly,

Trick Or… No, just tricks for Max.

Happy Halloween, Famous!

I purchased a wonderful outfit for Max. It’s a dog’s shirt, and the sizes are XXS - L. Technically, a small is the middle size, and since Ruby is a medium dog, I bought the small for Max.  Because Max is, well, to be blunt, fat and lazy, I figured a Varsity Team shirt would be hilarious for him. He really just looks like a washed up old high school athlete, with a big beer belly.

I mean check out the baggy belly and the neck roll! Honestly, we do not over feed - he’s just that lazy. Maybe I should start saying he’s laid back instead of lazy. He might get self-esteem issues, especially after I post this picture.

And, PETA, I did stretch it out so it fits comfortably now.

LOVE ME,
And the most “laid back” cat I know,

Busy or Boring?

Famous,
What do we have to say for ourselves. No posting all week? Either we’ve been very busy or very boring. I’m going to choose busy! This week I’ve been to a soccer game, a cross country meet, a football kick-off social, stayed late at the office, and sipped a couple of margaritas. Today we cleaned up the house a bit, and tonight we’re grilling out and having a fire. And hopefully, Sunday or Monday - tubing! In the meantime, Labor Day is Monday (to steal your line, Woop Woop. Three day weekend!).

Our neighbors informed us recently that they are close to giving up on house hunting for the year. “There’s nothing out there.” Which makes me feel a little better about not really going forth with house hunting. Of course, “Now’s the time,” and Jayson can’t get enough of that line. However, halting the house hunt does not keep me from day dreaming about all of the things I’m going to do to the interior of my future home! Have you seen Target wallpaper? I’m very interested in textured wallpaper and the metallic-ish wallpaper - for an accent wall. Here are my faves:

(it's paintable!)

(paintable!)

I’ll try and bring a little more to the blog next week. Jayson’s manstress, Trev, is coming to visit. He arrives Wednesday. They are going to Winnipeg for the weekend. It’s Jayson’s ‘pre-op boys’ blowout’ which includes a CFL game (Go Riders) and a Tragically Hip concert. Not too long after Trevor departs, the not-in-laws will be staying with us to take care of their medicated, sling-armed son.

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend - please enjoy the beautiful weather!

LOVE ME,
And the fact that my very large walk-in closet, a.k.a. the spare bedroom, will not look like a clothing explosion by Wednesday, and will not be my closet for about a month. The things I do for love,

Blogmit

Famous,

Bear with me…

Jayson and I were watching The Daily Show. Jon Stewart was poking fun at some politician and placed him on the Men who look like old lesbians blog. That’s not why I’m writing you.  It’s because of that blog that I found another blog - People I No Longer Talk To. The entries are a bit long, but every once in a while, there is one worth reading!

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

I don’t remember his name (thank God). He was a friend of a friend who seemed fine in mixed company, but when I started spending time alone with him he got…creepy. Strike that, he was batshit insane.

He was paranoid and hateful. He thought his parents, his neighbors, the cops etc. were out to get him. He made crass sex jokes even after I asked him to stop. He excused his hatred of all religions by saying a Catholic nut-job burnt his girlfriend to death in the park, and his homophobia by saying he was molested when he was four. I believe neither story.

He refused to drink soda because he said it depletes calcium from your bones, but would smoke a pack a day because he planed to die by age 23 anyway. He blamed his stench on his pet turtle and made plans on how to kill it. He would talk repeatedly about forbidden “shadowcraft” moves that could kill a man with one blow, or how to evade the cops by “going all stealth”. His favorite words were “sketch”, “sketchball”, and “crackhead” and he would use them to describe anyone who didn’t like him. He claimed to have friends out side of school I never saw.

When I deliberately avoided him, he came looking for me. While waiting for him to realize he wasn’t welcome around me without pushing him into rage, I wrote cathartic, thinly veiled hate stories about him for my English class. He eventually stopped searching for me at lunch and I didn’t see him again. It was a breath of fresh air. I sort of hope he did join the army like he planed to and met his death goal early. Bastard.

Did I mention that our mutual friend once to set us up together? At first all our friends thought we’d make a great couple. The mind boggles.

LOVE ME,

And my continued search for the end of the Internet - I believe I’m getting closer,

Random isn’t my middle name

But it should be! FAMOUS…. I’ve missed you, virtually.

This is full of items that do not relate to each other whatsoever, but I feel like chatting with you about. They include 1) My thoughts on MJ, 2) vacation, 3) animals and couches, and 4) The Proposal (I’m referring to the movie, not anything that didn’t happen yet - I love you Jayson ;) ). And oh yeah, 5) Clare.

1. MJ’s death - At first, I was maybe a little shocked. But, he’s not been the King of Pop for some time now, and has been more like Wacko Jacko (as the press referred to him not so long ago).  However, the next day, my family and I listened to his greatest hits, and listening to the King of Pop did make it a little sad. I’m just not sure he’ll ever be understood for whatever the heck’s been going on with him for the last decade + some. And, sidenote, can you believe he was renting for $100,000 month?!? Unreal, I thought he was in debt.

2. Loved vacation. I didn’t even burn. However, more freckles have appeared. And Ann’s boyfriend has freckles on his elbows, too - I’m not the only one! I have pictures on a waterproof camera that I cannot currently share with you. Here is the view from our balcony.

Balcony view

Also, as for hours upon hours in the car, in 3 days we drove from S. Padre Island to Grand Forks, ND. That’s cross country if you ask me. Three weeks off and then we drive to British Columbia. I love car rides, I love car rides, I love car rides…

Ruby loves Grandma’s house. There is so much to do!

3. Speaking of Ruby, I told you that she and Max love the couches. I HAD to cover them. They live on them.

4. The Proposal - If you haven’t seen it, SEE IT.  All I have to say is, ” To the window… To the wall… To the sweat drop down my balls.”

I laughed until I cried. It’s FUNNY!

5. Clare (well, first, Jen’s belly, then Clare).

Finally - HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

Any big city plans?

LOVE ME,
