Hazy, Hot and Humid

hot

Spam,

I am SO TIRED OF THE HEAT! Hazy, hot and humid have been the only words out of the weatherman’s mouth in the past few weeks.

I had a list of things I wanted to get done this weekend. Do you think I did any of it?! I spent all weekend on the couch, watching tv. I couldn’t bring myself to withstand the extreme temperature differences between outside, the car, and the air-conditioned stores. I wasn’t feeling well to begin with and that just would’ve made it worse.

To give you an example of how hot it was yesterday, I’ll share a story: one of the few times my butt left the couch yesterday was to bring the boys on a walk. We got across the street and down a few feet on the bike path when Kilik sat down, looked up at me, picked his front paws up off the ground one at a time, and started shaking them like they were on fire. I had to pick him up and carry him the rest of the way. He is a little drama queen at times, but it really was that hot.

It is even hotter today.

Cheers to whining about the weather (because we are SO good at that here in the midwest),

Yum or No?

Fame,

Not too long ago my mom told me they were having waffles and fried chicken for dinner - my sister wanted to try it. I saw a waffles and fried chicken cupcake today! Yum yes, or yum no!

LOVE ME,

and I think I’d go for the bacon and maple before the chicken and waffle,

They are SO worth it

Hi Spam,

I apologize for my blog absence. I’ll make up for it…I promise!

First, I want to share a little make-over with you…

boys

Don’t they look adorable in their matching bandana’s? (Even if they do have cats on them!) They even got their pearly whites cleaned this past Friday. We left the cities at 10:30 pm on Thursday and drove through pouring rain and lightning storms to get them to their 7:30 Friday morning appointment in GF. Why did we do this? Because we paid half the price of what the vets down here were charging. And because they are so worth it!

Thank you for stopping by the reunion this past weekend! It was so great to see you, even if we got in only a few minutes of catching up. I think you’re about due to come visit me down here though. (Hint hint…09/17)

Ben and I left GF early Saturday afternoon. We decided to skip out on the rest of the reunion weekend to get home and have Sunday to relax. We had a pretty exhausting previous weekend as well…we were in GF on Friday for my mom’s college graduation (yay mom!) and left at 5:00 am on Saturday to get to a wedding in Winona at 2:30. We dropped the boys off at home along the way and because Ben wasn’t sure if he would be able to attend the wedding or not, we hadn’t found a dog sitter for the night. SO, we had to drive back to the cities that night after the wedding (about a three hour drive). Phew. Just thinking about that makes me tired. We relaxed yesterday by catching a matinee, “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.” I really liked it. The effects reminded me of an old school nintendo game. (side note…Ben bought two ‘new’ old school nintendo games last week. It was quite entertaining watching his attempt to get them started in the old console. He was getting pretty red in the face blowing on them and the console. Do you remember doing that?! Hahaha)

Last week I brought in my mom’s old sewing machine to get tuned up and serviced. It should be ready next week and I am hoping they can show me how to work it! Then I can get started on a few upholstery projects I have been thinking about. But I do have some other things to share first, so I hope to get those posted by the end of the week. There. I said it. Now I just have to hold myself to it!

Cheers to my pretty little boys (with expensively good smelling breath),

PS. Did Intern A. like all the references to pop culture the graduation speaker threw in? The Jersey Shore, Lilo, um, there were quite a few more, but so much has happened since then that I don’t remember! I DO remember sitting in the Fritz thinking that this was a perfect speech for her graduation and that she probably loved it! I hope she had a great time at her wedding the next day (I was also thinking about that as I saw her get her diploma)!

Some stuff

Famous,

How are you doing? Are you busy working on your house? At first I wanted to do every project and every room immediately. Now… whenever I get to it is just fine. I’ve pretty much finished up the bathroom, and my family brought up furniture for my living room. Hopefully I’ll get those pics to you soon! I’m still trying to do wall decor in the living room, but I’ll get there… whenever : )

I am organizing bookmarks on my computer (Yes. That is what I’m doing on a Friday evening.), and ran in to some stuff I tagged to share with you, and never did!

  • What I like to call “Hell No” yoga poses.
  • Maybe this guy will complete my bathroom.
  • If I used my bike as a main mode of transportation, I would invest in this basket.
  • This blog makes me laugh.

Now, I’m off to see Eat. Pray. Love. I bought the book, never read, and hope that maybe Julia will motivate me to want to read it. It’s getting average reviews so far, so I’m guessing maybe the book is better.

LOVE ME,

And Friday afternoon laptop clean up

Guess who sent me this?

I’ll give you one guess with a helpful hint: We used to work with him.

But it’s pretty creative!

Greyson covers Paparazzi

Fame,

I love this - Amanda sent it to me. He has over 20 million views in 3 weeks, and he is on Ellen Wednesday. How freaking talented is he? Please note the demographics of the audience behind him… cute.

She must love him, because he was on earlier - Ellen 5-15

Leggings are NOT PANTS!!

Spam,

I came across this video on the blog, My Favorite and My Best. I think it is poking fun at the recent re-emergence of leggings.

I hope you are laughing! And don’t you think we see more than our fair share of this atrocity while working on a college campus?! These girls were not around in the eighties when we learned that any type of spandex on our bottom half must be balanced by a top that is 3 sizes too big (which then covers the unsightly shape of one’s booty in said spandex). We should maybe print this and hand it out to the offenders. We are only two people, but we can make a difference.

Cheers to a world without leggings (as pants),
love, famous

PS. Check out My Favorite and My Best. She has a dirty mouth and a weird fetish for bathroom-related activities, but she’s funny!

What are you doing in September?

Fame,

First, I tried Zumba last night. I’ll probably go back. I did a pretty good workout Monday and was slightly sore yesterday, and now I’m just still sore, and I don’t know if it’s from the booty shaking (my favorite part of Zumba). My hips, they do not do what the instructors hips can do!

Second, in honor of the bicycling Santa, I’m visiting you in September. And I’m staying with you. And I might bring a friend or two. And you are going to go with us to… Da da da DAAA… JUNK BONANZA! Have you ever been to or heard of this wonderfulness of an event? My friend, Christy, introduced me to it. But unfortunately she has to work (Christy -  maybe if you’re lucky, I’ll bring you some junk).

I’m not really going to bring a caravan of people to your home, but I do think I know about one or two people who would like to take the visit with me. If you look at one thing on that website, look at the list of vendors. Yowza.

LOVE ME,

And the junk pile I’m going to be hauling home,
